Awareness Lecture on Civil Services as Career Option held at Modi College
Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala organized an awareness lecture on Civil Services as Career option. The lecture was organized by General Studies Circle of the college.
In the beginning of session, Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar motivated the students to prepare for prestigious examination and to contribute for the development of Indian Democracy by getting selected into All India and State Civil Services. Dr. Ganesh Kumar Sethi, Incharge, General Studies Circle introduced to students the history and need of Civil Services in India. He described how the great Indian visionary and First Deputy Prime Minister of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel framed the steel structure of Civil Services in India. Sardar Patel was of the opinion that India cannot keep united if we don’t have a good all India Service. Sh. Naman Sharma from Chanakya IAS Academy, Chandigarh explained the structure, preparation, strategy and tips to clear civil services exam. He handled queries raised by students regarding language barrier, political pressure and corruption in Civil Services. The lecture was attended by around 150 students and faculty members Dr. Harmohan Sharma, Dr. Manish Sharma and Prof. Gaurav Gupta.

ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਅੱਜ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਜਨਰਲ ਸਟੱਡੀਜ਼ ਸਰਕਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ‘ਸਿਵਲ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਰੀਅਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਚੋਣ’ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਿਵਿਲ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕੀ ਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦੀ ਰੀੜ੍ਹ ਦੀ ਹੱਡੀ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਭਾਗ ਬਣਕੇ ਮੁਲਕ ਦੇ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਢੁੱਕਵਾਂ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਪਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜਨਰਲ ਸਟੱਡੀਜ਼ ਸਰਕਲ ਦੇ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਡਾ. ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਸੇਠੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਦੀ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਉੱਘੇ ਤੇ ਦੂਰਦਰਸ਼ੀ ਨੇਤਾ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਵਲੱਵ ਭਾਈ ਪਟੇਲ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਦੂਰ-ਅੰਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਏਕਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਖੰਡਤਾ ਦੀ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤੀ ਲਈ ਸਿਵਲ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਵਿਲਖੱਣ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕੀ ਢਾਂਚੇ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕੀਤੀ। ਚਾਣਕਯ ਅਕਾਦਮੀ, ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਤੋਂ ਆਏ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਨਮਨ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਰਥਿਕਤਾ, ਕਾਰਜ-ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀ, ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲੇ ਦੀ ਪਾਤਰਤਾ, ਸ਼ਰਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਦੇ ਢੰਗ-ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਡਟੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਹਤੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ 150 ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਮੂਲੀਅਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ. ਹਰਮੋਹਨ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡਾ. ਮਨੀਸ਼ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਗੌਰਵ ਗੁਪਤਾ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ।
